Thanks for your interest in rockXradio Canada!
rockXradio officially launched in May 2010. For the first few months we experimented with genres from the 80’s to current new music. Radio shows, Talk radio shows and of course our automated request feature. As with all new stations, it takes a bit for an audience to catch on to your brand and style of station that is broadcasting. We were able to make adjustments in the first few months without really disrupting too many things. Most music from previous decades was removed from our rotation, as we settled on new music first. Til this day this remains the same. We make time to search for the new bands we play. Yes we do get a lot of submissions, however our submission department is fairly under staffed. Therefore a huge portion does go un-noticed. It is for that reason we set out to find the bands (New / Indie) that we add on a consistent basis. So do your thing, play your music, get your name out there, and we will find you. Now you know why you may not hear anything from us. Don’t be discouraged as there is a good chance we will find you anyways if you meet our format and work hard. To us, a song is not a song. Throwing chords together, does not make a song. Our standards are high as they should be for you as well.

The power of music, the story the lyrics tell, speaks to an individual in many ways. Thousands of bands have examples of fans where a song has gotten them through times in their lives. This includes us as well. So you will see a diverse musical experience as you listen to rockXradio. Yes you will hear 5FDP, Bullet For my Valentine and Disturbed, and many other commercially successful bands. However we also play Fit For a King, Demon Hunter and many other Christian Bands. Lets not forget some of the indie bands we have who are completely awesome.
> Edited lyrics whenever possible. We are aware alot of internet radio lives by the theory of ‘play it like its recorded’. Because of our faith, we see it differently. Clean content will be played if available
Finally, and the most important of all is “What We Believe”
God – Creator and Ruler of the universe. Eternally exists in three persons: The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. Co-equal and One God.
The Bible. God’s Word to all. Written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
We are made in the spiritual image of God. Although we have much potential for good, we all fall short of the glory of God by disobedience (Sin).
We are created to exist with God forever. Man will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or in union with Him, through forgiveness and salvation.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Co-equal with the Father. Lived a sinless life and became the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on the cross. Three days later, He rose from the dead. As death is defeated, this demonstrated His power over sin and death. Ascending to Heaven’s glory, He will return to earth to reign as Kings of Kings and Lord of lords.
Salvation is a gift from God to all mankind. it is not about Self-improvement and good works. Only trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can we be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal Life begins the moment a person receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping-power of God that gives this security.
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily.
Water baptism is a picture of what has already transpired in a person’s heart when they have placed their faith and trust in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ to save them from their sins. It does not atone for sin. Only the blood of Christ cleanses us from sin. When the Philippian jailer asked, “What must I do to be saved?” they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved….” (Acts 16:30-34). Paul did not tell him to be baptized to be saved. His baptism came after his believing, which sets the scriptural standard. Even Paul did not baptize many people (1Corinthians 1:16-17). According to the established Bible pattern, only those who have trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and become children of God should then be baptized as a testimony to others. We believe baptism is not essential for salvation, but is done in obedience to a command by God concerning discipleship.
